We All Want to Become More Productive…Right?

“Why not?”
#HustleSmarter
Hey friends,
One of the best productivity ‘hacks’ is to define the One Thing that you want to work on each day.
We can ask the question “What would your future self want you to work on today?”.
If we need a hint, we can think about (a) what would give us the most satisfaction if we completed it today, (b) what would bring joy if we did it today, or © what’s the most urgent thing we need to get done.
I like this idea of daily highlights.
And then I like to list a few more things that I’d like to do to make the day really awesome.
Sometimes I don’t end up ‘doing’ the thing, but just putting it down on paper (lol) primes my brain to background process it.
Give it a try
So I have a ‘Stuff that’s on my mind’ heading where I can offload my brain of any threads that I’ve been holding on to. Again, just putting this stuff down on paper feels good, and offers me some clarity.
And the nice thing about journaling is that I’ve made this into a template so each day, I just re write it and it takes 2 seconds.
As a massive nerd, I’ve probably tried at least 100 different ‘productivity hacks’ over the years, but this Daily Journal thing has already been one of the most effective – for most of the days where I’ve defined a daily highlight, I’ve managed to complete it without major issues.
I’ll report back in a few months to let you know how it’s holding up.
Have a great week!

Stuff I Enjoyed This Week
1 – Video – This is a great interview with one of my YouTube idols Graham Stephan. It’s a candid look at a whole range of things from his thoughts on hustle, hard work and enjoying the process to how he makes $300k per month from YouTube.
2. Book/Audible –The Power Of Broke Daymond John, multi millionaire, explains how being broke can be a good thing when starting out. This is on my list for the week. No matter how much we make, we should never forget where we started.
3- Video – I think a lot about this ‘career’ stuff and this video from UnJaded Jade is incredibly useful and packed with wisdom. I really like her framing that the ‘career’ way of thinking. We can do what we want, as long as it’s interesting and fulfilling, and when it’s no longer interesting, we can do something else!
